TOMS at the Mulgrave Farmers Market

It’s not often you can go shopping and declare that everyone’s a winner. In September 2013, the Wise Foundation teamed with international shoes and eyewear movement TOMS, known for pioneering philanthropic retail, to open a series of pop-up stores.

The first was in Melbourne’s iconic Flinders Lane shopping precinct which was soon followed by a store at Melbourne’s St Kilda Festival and another inside The Body Shop Bourke Street.

The TOMS unique ‘One for One’ business model ensures that every pair of TOMS shoes or sunglasses sold anywhere in the world sees either a pair of shoes or sight-saving eye care provided to a child in need. Additionally, all proceeds from the stores go towards Wise Foundation projects that help marginalised people in Australia, East Timor and Samoa.

Socially aware shoppers have flocked to the stores. In fact, the collaboration has been so successful that there will be a Wise Foundation store selling TOMS shoes and eyewear at the Mulgrave Farmers Market each Sunday.

The Mulgrave Farmers Market is open every Sunday from 8am-1pm and is located on the corner of Wellington and Jacksons Road, Mulgrave.
